Half decent SLR camera

Did a quick search and couldn't find one anywhere, but apologies if I missed it. Anyhoo... I just bought my first half decent SLR camera (much obliged, SimoniLT!) and I'm buzzing off trying out a few things, different settting and trying to get different styles of shot and stuff. It's my first ever day with a decent camera in my hands but I've managed a few decent shots I think. I've steered clear of the auto settings and tried my bestest to "build" what shots I have taken. Anyway, i know there are some pretty keen amateurs and beyond on here, so it's be ace if anyone else wants to stick a few of their own shots on and maybe offer a few tips or techniques for plebs like me! Anyway, here's a few of my shitty first day shots that I'm reasonably pleased with as first ever efforts! (be nice!): We are looking for an acoustic musician or solo artist from Leeds to perform at the launch of an art exhibition on the evening of Tuesday 5th April (Approx 6-9pm) at Broadcasting Place. The charity art exhibition is in aid of Hollybank Trust. Hollybank specialise in caring for children and young adults with complex disabilities, the exhibition is an opportunity for the artists of Hoolybank to display their work. We would really appreciate any time you have to spare. "Disorderly conduct" means out of order, but who defines what order is? The goon with the badge and the gun. Good luck if you find a reasonable one, bad luck if you run into an idiot. All it is is a way of saying to you "you better not raise your voice to, stare at, or in any manner think you're in the same level as, a police man". Does it help protect innocent people? No. It helps stop people from complaining. Damn as you remember I disliked the entire "cop" thing ever before turning to the bright side... The guitarist in my band went to the Hampton Beach show. He got backstage as well and met the band. He said all in all Benoit was the most personable and talked about the new album. There's going to be a 20 minute epic according to David! He said he also spoke to Oliver who was also quite nice. Wish I could have gone! Too bad I was in Worcester watching Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood step on live mousetraps in front of 1100 people. I'm not quite sure where to post this but I'm sure some of you might be interested... OMENOPUS are giving away a FREE Compilation Album.
